Celebrating Arkansas’s College Entrepreneurs Since 2001!

Welcome to the 2017 Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup      Collegiate Business Plan Competition!

The prestigious Governor’s Cup competition is open to any degree-seeking student enrolled at any public or private Arkansas two-year college or four-year university during the summer and/or fall 2016 semesters or the spring 2017 semester.

The Governor’s Cup is not just for business students – team members from any discipline (agriculture, business, health, tourism/hospitality, engineering, science, etc.) with a great business idea are encouraged to enter.

Since 2001, more than 2,300 college students have taken the challenge and competed in this real-world and prestigious competition for a chance to win BIG money! Thanks to the generosity of the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, the 2017 cash prize pool is once again $154,000, one of the largest collegiate business plan prize pools in the United States. There are no strings attached to the cash prizes because the goal is to reward competitors for going through the rigor of the competition.

Winning cash is great, but there’s much more to the Governor’s Cup experience. Just by competing, many students discovered there was more to launching a business than they thought. Competitors say that going through the rigor of the competition’s real-world business planning process put them ahead of others when it came to entering the job market, especially when talking to employers. Others actually launched their business ideas or saw a path to another entrepreneurial opportunity after they left college because of the competition. Here’s more:
